How did you end up at CrossFit 2 Street? We moved two blocks away.


Advice for new CrossFit / BootCamp athletes… Compete with yourself! Sign up for the Open even though it’s scary. Do the movements that make you uncomfortable. When you aren’t uncomfortable anymore, you’ll know you’ve made progress.

Where are you from? I grew up in Coldwater, Michigan, small town in Southern Michigan with a 4-H Fair every summer.


What do you do for work? I'm a pilot for the US Air Force. I currently fly the C-17 Globemaster III.


How did you end up at CrossFit 2 Street? We moved to Philadelphia from Kaneohe, Hawaii last summer ('24) and purchased a home just 2 blocks away. It was the luckiest move ever to be a 4 min walk from this amazing gym! No excuses not to make the trip in the middle of winter.


Advice for new CrossFit / BootCamp athletes…. Show up, don't get injured... it's amazing how fast you'll meet your fitness goals. I love to race Triathlons and I've made the biggest improvements over the years from disciplined attendance to CrossFit, it's just fantastic cardio and strength training.


Who is the better chef, cook, baker or person with meal prep? I've been the go to cook since moving to Philly. When Alec has time, he puts together amazing dinners... We also both love skipping cooking and finding a new foodie spots in the city. Always open ears for recommendations from other gym members!


Who is more likely to laugh at the wrong moment? We're both pretty hilarious, according to ourselves.


Who has the shorter tempter? He remembers everything, you will never win an argument. 


Who is more serious? Me, I think.


Who is more likely to forget where they parked the car? Alec... a little too soon on that question, he got towed last week and it was an experience. 


Who can squat the most? He still has the bigger PR! He was deployed to Australia for 6 months in '23, he led his entire squadron of Marine aviators in PT (physical training).


Who is more punctual? Time is a foreign concept to Alec... I can't stand being late... I'm sure you've seen us show at different times to the same Saturday class. (coaches note: YES! I have witnessed that)


Who is more likely to start a home improvement project? He's honestly the big project tackler... he repainted our entire condo in Hawaii in less than 48 hours, but in Philly I'm always trying to buy more plants or a new light fixture.
